The goal: help save a child’s life.
  • The AMBER Alert Highway Network leverages location-based mobile information services to disseminate AMBER Alerts to the trucks of participating carriers within a specified geographical area.
  • AAHN is a Qualcomm initiative created in partnership with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), and supported by the American Trucking Association.

How it works.
  1. Law enforcement activates an AMBER Alert, which then gets immediately broadcast over radio, TV, and on highway signs.
  2. Law enforcement then sends the AMBER Alert message to the NCMEC where the information is entered into the AMBER Alert Secondary Distribution system.
  3. The information is then sent to all secondary distributors (including Qualcomm).
  4. When Qualcomm receives the information, we send the AMBER Alert information to the appropriate trucks of the participating carriers, and send cancellations and updates as appropriate.
 
How to enroll.
Once you decide to enroll:
  1. You must complete, sign, and return the letter of participation indicating your desire to receive AMBER Alerts (the terms of the participation are not negotiable).
  2. After the signed letter is received, Qualcomm will set up your account to receive AMBER Alerts.
